GZ Industries Limited is committed to the production and delivery of top-quality Aluminum Beverage CANs under safe and hygienic conditions to all its customers and will not cause any adverse health effect
to the consumers when used according to its intended purpose.

We shall achieve this by:

  • Ensuring that every CAN manufactured complies with, regulatory, statutory, mutually agreed
    customers’ and applicable food safety requirements.
  • Systematically identifying and reducing significant hazards which can arise from our operations by
  • Monitoring and effectively controlling all activities that are critical to food safety.
  • Not committing any food fraud in the manufacture of our CANs.
  • Setting and reviewing food safety objectives periodically.
  • Providing training for our employees to ensure that they are aware and competent on all food safety
    hazards, process controls, procedures associated with their process.
  • Implementing, maintaining, and continually improving as an integral part of our business, a
    documented management system compliant with the requirements of ISO 22000:2018,
    ISO/TS22002-4:2013, FSSC22000 additional requirements and any industry code of practice.
  • Continually striving to improve our food safety performance.
  • Providing the required resources to ensure that the food safety management system is effectively
    implemented.

This policy shall be communicated and made available to all relevant interested parties for proper
understanding of the implementation and maintenance of the food safety management system and review
it for continual improvement and suitability through set objectives consistent with the aims of this policy.

GZ Industries Limited is committed to meeting customer expectations by ensuring Beverage Aluminium CANs are consistently manufactured to the highest quality in a responsible manner that protects people from harm, injury or ill health and minimizing adverse impact on the environment because of our operations, whilst complying with Customer, Statutory, Regulatory and any other applicable requirements.

We shall achieve this by

  • Preventing pollution, injuries, and ill health commensurable to the purpose, size, and context of the business and to the specific nature of its QHSE risks and QHSE opportunities by
    proactively identifying and managing quality, health, safety and environmental risks and opportunities through a documented hazard identification, risk assessment, risk control through monitoring, measurement, analysis performance evaluation process.
  • Regularly conducting process reviews, and customer feedback to implement process improvements in all our operations.
  • Complying with all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental legislation and other identified requirements, and conduct regular audits to monitor compliance.
  • Implementing, maintaining, and continually improving as an integral part of our business, a documented, integrated management system compliant with the requirements of
    ISO 9001:2015 (Quality), ISO 45001:2018 (Health and Safety) and ISO 14001:2015 (Environment)
  • Providing a framework for setting and reviewing quality, health, safety, and environmental objectives.

GZI, their employees, and other persons (entities and individuals) acting on their behalf (collectively, “GZI”) are committed to conducting all of their business in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations, the highest ethical standards, with the utmost integrity, and in a way that will maintain and enhance GZI’s reputation and brand in the market.

One aspect of this commitment is that GZI always conducts itself in a professional, honest, and responsible manner and avoids and prevents any conduct (or failure to act) that may be considered to be improper, corrupt, illegal, unethical or otherwise contrary to good corporate citizenship. Anti-corruption laws.

The GZI’s policy is a global policy which recognizes the laws and regulations of every country and jurisdiction it operates which universally prohibits the bribery to any public/government officials. Due to varying standards among Anti-corruption laws around the world, the policy reflects and adheres to the strictest standards of all of these laws by prohibiting all payments to or for government officials.

With our operations and in selling to governments and governmental entities, GZI will inevitably come into contact with officials to sell products and services and/or to obtain requisite governmental approval. In any situation where the involvement of a public or government official is involved, there must be strict vigilance and compliance with the Anti-bribery policy.

It is the strict policy of GZI to comply fully with all applicable laws, including those laws prohibiting the payments of bribes, directly or indirectly, to public/government or public officials. Accordingly, any person acting for or on behalf of GZI must not bribe, corrupt or otherwise induce a public or government official in any country to act (or omit to act) in a way that differs from or is inconsistent with that official’s proper duties, obligations and standards of conduct, for the benefit of GZI or any other person. This means that any person acting for and on behalf of GZI must not seek to and must not, directly or indirectly, pay, give, offer, confer, or promise anything of value to a government or public official for the purpose of retaining or obtaining business.

Any allegation or final determination of bribery of an official will jeopardize GZI’s reputation and business standing, and will also expose GZI, as well as relevant GZI Staff members, to potential criminal prosecution and penalties. Any GZI Staff member involved in any such prohibited activity will be subject to disciplinary or corrective action by GZI (including dismissal) and reported to the appropriate authorities (where applicable).

All reports of or information with respect to bribery, kickback or corrupt practises or the suspected bribery of public/government officials should be reported to whistleblow@gzican.com, with a copy also automatically sent to the internal auditors or call 08150854041 (Nigeria) or 0800233704 (South Africa).

GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE
The grievance procedure at GZ Industries provides a transparent, fair, and efficient process for addressing complaints, grievances, and information requests from all stakeholders, including employees, contractors, suppliers, customers, and local communities. This process promotes open communication, builds trust, and ensures timely resolution of issues while supporting continuous improvement.

The procedure applies to all stakeholders, including employees, contractors, suppliers, customers, investors, local communities, government agencies, NGOs, and other interested parties.

Key Features of the Procedure:

Informal Grievance Resolution:

  • Stakeholders can submit concerns via email or in person to HR or the Community Liaison Officer.
  • Issues are discussed informally to seek a quick and amicable resolution.

Formal Grievance Resolution:

  • If unresolved informally, grievances can be formally submitted via email or in writing.

Union Grievances:

  • Union-related grievances follow procedures outlined in the union agreement, with union representatives actively involved.

External Stakeholder Reporting:

  • External stakeholders can submit grievances via email, letter, or meetings with the Community Liaison Officer.

GZI is committed to meeting customer expectations by ensuring our Aluminium Beverage CANs are consistently manufactured to quality standard in a responsible manner that protects people from harm, injury or ill health and minimizes adverse impacts on the environment as a result of our operations, whilst complying with customer, statutory, regulatory and any other applicable requirements.

GZI undertakes to apply the principles set out below as per this ESG Policy. GZI, within its own internal capacity, will continue to monitor progress on environmental, social, health an d safety matters, as well as compliance of specific sections of the company to these principles. GZI aims to achieve this by:

  • Considering occupational health and safety, environmental and social issues associated with our operations work sites and host communities.,
  • Complying with all relevant national, provincial, state, labour, environmental, health and safety legislation, other identified requirements, and conducting regular audits to monitor compliance within the countries we operate.
  • Respecting the right of employees to decide to join a union and engage in collective bargaining.
  • Implementing policies that prohibit bribery and payments to public officials, consistent with the laws of the countries we operate in.
  • Ensuring that we respect and uphold human rights and that human rights are not affected by our operations be it for our workers or third-party contractor workers. We will ensure that people are not at risk of child labour and forced or compulsory labour in all our operations and will ensure we do not implement any discriminatory policies.
  • Providing information to partners in the matters addressed in this policy and ensuring transparency in our activities.
  • Supporting the payment of competitive wages and benefits to employees and third-party contractors.
  • Seeking to grow and improve the long-term sustainability initiatives of GZI and any future subsidiaries and companies we might invest in or acquire, while also considering the ESG issues relevant to all our stakeholders.

We will work through the appropriate governance structures (e.g., board of directors) to effectively implement environmental, public health, safety, and social issues, with the goal of improving performance and minimizing adverse impacts in these areas.

  • Using appropriate governance structures that provide the required level of oversight in the areas of risk management, audit, and potential conflicts of interest.
  • Encourage our third-party contractors to implement similar principles as above just as its applicable to their operations.

This policy and other elements of the ESMS (Environmental and Social Management System) shall be reviewed annually and updated when required to ensure its continued applicability to the activities of GZI.
